This seminar is open to professionals who are interested in an opportunity for ongoing immersion in family systems theory through the study of the work of John T. Edwards, Ph.D. The seminar will utilize the book “Working With Families: Guidelines and Techniques” second edition written by Dr. Edwards. Participants will apply a family systems approach to current challenges in the substance abuse treatment field. Topics will include but are not limited to addressing the opioid epidemic, working with the schools, trauma, and working with the criminal justice system. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss current cases and receive feedback from colleagues. The seminar will be facilitated by Dr. Richard J. Martin, a long-time colleague of Dr. Edwards. Additionally, colleagues of Dr. Edwards who have worked with him for many years and are current Board members of the John T. Edwards Foundation will participate in the seminar and lead the sessions.

The seminar will meet on the Third Tuesday of the month from Noon to 1 PM. Participants will receive (1) hour of substance abuse specific (SAS) credit in the Evidence-Based Treatment (EBT) category. Participants do not have to attend every seminar to receive credit.
